The Mormon Trail Wagon Train is camped on Yellow Creek about 8 miles southwest of Evanston, Wyoming. Today was the day partticipants were supposed to cross the border into Utah. But did they? Religion Specialist, Duane Cardall is with the wagon train and joins us live from Yellow Creek. Duane are they in Utah or Wyoming?
It kind of depends on where you stand. Right now, I'm in Wyoming and these wagons are in Wyoming. But walk that way, a couple of hundred feet and you're in Utah.
For the last few months, schedules and news releases said they would enter Utah today, so Summit County Commissioners came to extend the official welcome. And leadership of the trail has transferred to Utah Wagon Master Bob Lowe even though they're still in Wyoming.
The Wagon Train came across a very pristine portion of trail today, well off the modern beaten path. It gave participants a good feel for the way things were 150 years ago.
