Day 63: Sunday, June 6, 1847 (June 6, 1997)

It being Sunday, the pioneers spent the morning of June 6, 1847 in sabbath meetings. And as they worshipped, two groups of emigrants from Missouri passed by their camp. Four of the men came into camp.

Heber C. Kimball:

"SOME OF THESE FOUR ARE RECOGNIZED AS TAKING PART AGAINST US IN THE DIFFICULTIES IN MISSOURI AND THE BRETHREN JUDGED FROM THEIR APPEARANCE THAT THEY FEARED BEING KNOWN AND TREMBLED VERY MUCH WHILE OUR BRETHREN WERE TALKING WITH THEM."

The Missourians moved on and so did the Mormons about five miles. They camped on Cottonwood Creek between the two Missouri groups, and even helped one of the emigrants repair a broken wagon spring.
