Preventing Entrapment in Car Trunks
The Trunk Release Urgently Needed Coalition (TRUNC) suggests the following to protect against entrapment in car trunks:
Install a trunk release lever on the inside of your car trunk. Have an auto dealer do it, or do-it-yourself.
Teach children what to do if they're trapped, how to signal for help.
Keep instruments in the trunk that can be used in case of entrapment (crowbar, wrench, screwdriver, etc.).
