The summer road construction season is getting into full swing, and that could mean some delays for drivers on I-15 in Utah County this weekend.
News Specialist Sam Penrod explains.
Two separate projects start this weekend in Utah County that will affect drivers at night.
The first project will be to cut up the top levels of asphalt and then repave it, on about a ten mile stretch of the road, between the Alpine Highland exit and American Fork's 500 East exit.
The work is scheduled to take several weeks, but UDOT says it will add life to the freeway and extend the time before the entire road will have to be rebuilt.
The second paving project will be between Provo's Center Street and Springville.
This stretch of the freeway was partially rebuilt and widened and finished last fall.
Now, road crews are adding the final driving surface to the road. The project should be completed by the end of June.

Paving is complete, but resurfacing continues. UDOT says to expect occasional lane closures and minor delays, from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm Monday through Saturday. This project should be completed in mid-June.
