Manning Opts Out of Contract

June 26, 2001--

Olden Polynice won't be the only Jazz player opting out of his contract.

Danny Manning has told The Kansas City Star, he will opt out of the second and final year of his Jazz contract.

Manning made $1.2 million last season, and says he wants more like the NBA average of $4.5 million.

Danny says he loves Utah, and just wants more money. It's purely a business decision.

There's still a good chance he'll re-sign with the Jazz.
