The Utah Jazz picked up a point guard from Spain, and a forward from Stanford at the NBA draft Wednesday night.
The Jazz's first round pick was Raul Lopez, who is described as a very quick player with a good perimeter game, something of a "Spanish Stockton."
Lopez plays for the Real Madrid pro team, and was one of the top young point guard prospects in Spain. He averaged six points and two assists last season after getting 10 points a game the year before.

The six-foot Lopez shot over 37 percent from beyond the arc in two years at Real Madrid.
Scouts like Lopez's passing ability, calling him a throwback. The Jazz hope he compares favorably to John Stockton.
Lopez has a long-term contract with his team in Spain. And
since the Jazz aren't about to pay a $5-million buyout, Lopez will continue to develop his skills abroad before the Jazz bring him over here in the next couple of seasons.

In the second round, the Jazz selected Jarron Collins, a forward from Stanford.
Sportsline.Com calls Collins, "a nice, able-bodied big man who can clog the lane, grab loose rebounds, trigger the
break and be there at the finish. What he won’t be is a 30-minute per game player who delivers
key points and defensive stops at crunch time. Collins is a solid off-the-bench contributor, who
will make a team and make an impression."
