Obituary

SHANE VANDER MEIDE

Shane Vander Meide, 28, passed away December 26, 2000 in Salt Lake City, Utah after a courageous battle with Von Hippel-Lindau. He was born January 17, 1972 in Ogden, Utah to Edwin W. and Velma Epperson Vander Meide.

Shane was a member of the LDS Church where he held many positions including serving in the Minneapolis, Minnesota Mission. He worked in and loved the computer industry, and was always helping friends and family with repairs and problems. He also enjoyed fishing and family vacations. Shane loved his family and his family loved him. He had a sweet spirit felt by everyone.

Survived by his parents; sister, Melanie (Oswaldo) Vera; brother, Steven (Angelle) Vander Meide; grandparents, Lawrence and Gwendolyn Epperson and Petronella Maria Vander Meide; and nephew and niece, Christopher and Dominique Vera. Preceded in death by grandfather, Peter Vander Meide.

Special thanks to the Dr.'s and staff at the U of U Medical Center who cared for Shane.

Funeral services will be held 12 noon Wednesday, January 3, 2001 at the Copperhills 1st Ward, 4195 South 6000 West. Friends may call Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at the Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South, Magna, and Wednesday 11-11:45 a.m. at the church. Interment: Pleasant Green Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations are being taken at any First Security Bank under the name: Shane Vander Meide Memorial Fund to help with expenses.
