According to the latest KSL-TV/Deseret News poll, the race for the Republican ticket in the Second Congressional District is a tight one. Incumbent Merrill Cook has gained ground since our last poll.

Pollster Dan Jones tells us these numbers makes it too close to call.
Jones says with voter turnout expected to be only about 20 percent, it now depends on which candidate will be able to get supporters out to vote.
Cook has an edge among Republicans.
Smith among independents.
Dan Jones and Associates polled 315 registered Second District voters for this poll.
