Police are still searching for suspects in the shooting that happened at a late night party in Kearns.
Detectives are investigating possible gang connections, while the young woman's family deals with what they say is a senseless loss of a hopeful life.
News Specialist Jill Atwood has the story.
Kehndra Isakson left behind an 18 month old baby girl who is now starting to wonder when her mom is coming home.
And Kehndra's parents now wonder how they will someday explain it all to her.
With a smile and an "I love you", Kehndra Isakson could get just about anything she wanted.
Her family says she was a real charmer and her dad admits he was wrapped around her finger.
SHE WASN'T JUST BEAUTIFUL OUTSIDE SHE WAS BEAUTIFUL INSIDE.
But last Saturday at a party in Kearns someone with a gun didn't stop to think about that. They didn't stop to consider Kehndra or anyone else who might be a mom or a friend or a daughter.
Ken Isakson/Kehndra's Dad: THEY STARTED SHOOTING AT THIS HOUSE AND PEOPLE THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW..PEOPLE THAT..LIVES THAT ARE OBSELETE TO THEM..THEY DON'T EVEN CARE.
A random bullet killed Kehndra right in front of her l5 year old sister.
And now, 18 month old baby "Angel" is without a mom.
The Isaksons want everyone to know that while police say gang members are responsible, Kehndra was not involved with gangs.
She was into family, friends and raising her little girl.
POLICE SAY IT WAS GANG RELATED END OF STORY. IT'S NOT THE END OF THE STORY. THE STORY GOES ON BECAUSE WE DON'T HAVE OUR DAUGHTER AND WE DON'T HAVE ANGEL'S MOTHER...THE BABY'S MOTHER.
THEY SHOOT AT INNOCENT PEOPLE WITHOUT GUNS. THEY SHOOT AT WOMEN THEY SHOOT AT CHILDREN, THEY SHOOT AT MOTHERS, THEY SHOOT AT DAUGHTERS. THAT DOES NOT MAKE YOU A TOUGH GUY. IT DOESN'T MAKE YOU ATOUGH GUY AT ALL. IT MAKES YOU A COWARD.
Deputies have made two arrests in this case, and our pursuing even more leads.
