Adventurer Richard Jones is officially past three-fourths of his journey across the Atlantic.
Jones launched his 28-foot boat near the coast of Africa last October in hopes of becoming the second man to succesfully row across the Atlantic.
Since his departure, Jones has survived terrifying storms and even a near miss with a giant ship.
The head of the Ocean Rowing Society in London says Jones is over the toughest parts of his adventure and he has no doubt Jones will complete his journey successfully.
KENNETH CRUTCHLOW/DIRECTOR OF INTERNATIONAL OCEAN ROWING SOCIETY: "HE'S PROVEN TO BE PATIENT, METHODICAL AND DETERMINED AND CLEARLY NOW WE ARE SEEING THE END OF HIS DETERMINATION."
Jones is expected to arrive in Miami in about 2 to 3 weeks.
The last and only successful Ocean row was in 1969.
There have been 107 attempts in all, about half ended in a rescue at sea.
