The teacher's union today released results of a survey they say puts political candidates on notice.
The Utah Education Association conducted an on-line survey of 2,000 teachers.
They found half of teachers spend at least $100 of their own money for classroom supplies.
They also found the average class size of those teachers was 28 students.
UEA leaders made it a point to note that's a long way from Republicans' stated goal of 20 students per class, even if they did endorse the Republican candidate for governor.
Phyllis Sorensen/Utah Education Association: "I THINK IT PUTS ALL OF OUR CANDIDATES ON NOTICE. IT CERTAINLY SAYS, THINGS AREN'T AS ROSY AS THEY LOOK." "I'M HOPING WHEN PEOPLE GOT TO THE POLLS THEY'RE VOTING BECAUSE CLASS SIZES ARE TOO LARGE."
Republican leaders counter that 20 students per class is a long-term goal.
