Police booked a man into jail who they believe killed his business partner and buried him in a backyard in Sandy.
Crime Specialist Karen Scullin has more.
Tibor Brown lived and worked out of a home in Sandy.
It's also where he was found dead, buried in a shallow grave just on the other side of a fence.
Acquaintances describe 35-year-old David Stoedter as an "average guy." But police say
he
killed his business partner Tibor Brown, and
buried him in Brown's own backyard.
The two ran a company together called Rocky Mountain Recruiting-- a job placement service.
Sgt. Kevin Thacker: "RIGHT NOW THE ONLY MOTIVE WE HAVE IS SOME POSSIBLE PROBLEMS WITH THE BUSINESS."
The mystery began after Brown was reported missing Wednesday. Sunday, detectives gathered evidence well into the night,
and pulled a blue covering over the shallow hole where the body of Tibor Brown was found wrapped in a tarp, and buried.
Sherrie Wilde/Neighbor: "IT'S VERY FRIGHTENING. 'CAUSE IT MAKES YOU REALIZE IT'S NOT JUST SOMEPLACE DOWNTOWN OR ON THE WEST SIDE. IT'S RIGHT HERE IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD AND IT'S FRIGHTENING."
Neighbors say they saw nothing out of the ordinary happening at Brown's home. In fact, one man described Brown as a great guy, and a baseball fan.
Kristen Farmer/Neighbor: "WE'VE SEEN PEOPLE BACK THERE, BUT NOT ANYTHING SUSPICIOUS. BUT IT'S JUST SCARY."
Brown's car was found abandoned yesterday afternoon in Little Cottonwood Canyon. Detectives discovered his body a short time later.
Police aren't saying how Brown was killed until after the district attorney files charges. That should happen by Wednesday.
