But ANOTHER local comany was started by two women who bake gourmet treats right out of their home kitchen... and other pet services sell them.
They created Barkley's Bakery.

The Barkley's Bakers are whipping up a birthday treat for Buddy:

The topping is fat free cream cheese with a freshly baked doggie biscuit with his name on it.
Buddy and his friends, waste no time chowing down. Buddy's owner admits its kind of silly to have birthday party for his dog, but he is very serious about what he feeds Buddy.

Tammy Morris/Barkley's Bakery: WE RESEARCHED SOME RECIPIES GOT ON THE INTERNET, READ BOOKS AND THEN JUST STARED EXPERIMENTING WITH RECIPIES, UNTIL IT CAME OUT JUST RIGHT
Their own dogs: Freckles and Elliot are taste testers in this home business.
Now Barkley's bakery gourmet treats are sold in 20 different pet service stores from Farmington to Draper.
They offer ten different specialty items: Including jars of just add water dog cookie ingredients... so you can bake your own treats.
Dogs and owners... seem to love them.
Amanda Knorr/ Zed's owner: ZED LOVES TREATS AND HE ESPECIALLY LOVES BARKLEY'S BAKERY. WE'VE TRIED MANY OTHER THINGS AND HE GETS SICK, HE'S PRETTY FINICKY AND SO HE WONT EAT JUST ANY TREAT AND HE GOES NUTS FOR THEM.
