Car Survival Kit

Prepare in case you get stranded in your car due to an accident, car problems, or bad weather conditions.

Always maintain at least a half tank of gas.

Survival kit contents:

bag of sand/rock salt
bottled water in liter bottle (place in box to keep from rolling around in the trunk) or water
packets (rotate water ever six months)
canned food with can opener (optional) or nonperishable foods
emergency flares or mirror type reflector
essential medications
fire extinguisher standard class ABC
first aid kit & first aid manual
flashlights with extra batteries
hand warmer packets
hard sweet candy (optional), no chocolates
jacket or poncho for each member of the family
jumper cables
keep blankets or sleeping bags in the car or space blankets (one for each family member)
map
misc. tools (screw drivers, pliers, hammer, wrench, etc.)
shovel (folding) in case you get stuck in snow, mud, sand, dirt
siphoning hose
toilet tissue and pre-moistened towels
transistor radio with extra batteries
waterproof matches and candles
writing pad and pencil
