(1/25/99)

A nationwide meat recall to tell you about.

The products were made at Thorn Apple Valley Meat Plant in Forrest City, Arkansas.

The recall includes dozens of brand names of lunch meats and hot dogs, which could be tainted with the lysteria bacteria. The recalled lunchmeats and hot dogs have the code "est 13529" or "est P13529." Brands recalled include some Corn King, some Wilson, and some Hy-Vee products.

No illnesses have been linked to the products, so far. But since the symptoms caused by contaminated meat are similar to the flu, doctors sometimes find it hard to determine exactly what caused the illness.

For more information, contact the Thorn Apple Valley Meat Plant, at 1-800-316-2855.
