Porn Ring Suspect Admits to Photographing Own Child

Disturbing revelations about an Orem man accused of producing child -pornography, have many people concerned about -other possible victims.

The man had a number of young girls pose for what he said were modeling photos and has admitted to using one of his ten adopted children for purposes of child pornography.

News Specialist Sam Penrod has today's developments.

Since news of Joseph Durborow's arrest broke yesterday, many parents whose children were photographed by him, have contacted authorities concerned if their children are involved.

Durborow remains in custody as investigators begin sorting through at least 50- computer disks that Durborow has told investigators contain child pornography that he either created or downloaded from the internet.

Durborow operated Joseph Paul photography out of his Orem home and according to investigators would pay young girls to model clothing in his studio. And court documents show that Durborow admitted that he had hidden video cameras in the dressing room and would create still images.

Durborow is also accused of using an adopted daugther to create an image of child pornography.

The Division of Family Services says its preliminary investigation shows that Durborow's wife was not involved and was unaware of his alleged crimes.

Carol Sisco/Human Services Spokesperson: "THE CHILDREN ARE STILL HOME WITH THEIR MOM RIGHT NOW, THEY'VE BEEN THROUGH A TRAUMATIC SITUATION SO WE DON'T WANT TO TRAUMATIZE THEM FURTHER BY MOVING THEM OUT, WE ARE MAKING SURE THEY ARE OKAY."

  • Human services is also preparing to offering treatment or counseling to another other young children who may have been victimized.

    Investigators are asking parents whose children were photographed by Durborow to contact Orem Police, so it can be determined if they were victimized.

    Durborow will be back here in Federal Court Wednesday afternoon for a bail hearing.
