Poll: Should State Ban Fireworks?

The majority of Utahns say they won't buy fireworks for Pioneer Day, but don't want a ban.

In an exclusive Eyewitness News Viewers Voice Poll by Survey USA, nearly 60% of you said you will not buy and use fireworks. Thirty-seven percent said they will.

Should the state ban fireworks?

No	58%
Yes	34%
Not sure	7%

But only one-third of you think the state should ban fireworks to prevent more fires.

The governor does not have the authority to ban fireworks statewide, but can call on local officials to do so.
