Another Olympic sponsor signed on today. Sensormatic Electronics Corporation, of Florida, will provide
electronic surveillance for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games.
Sensormatic will post more than 1,000 digital cameras at venues during the games. The sponsorship is worth $20-million in products, services, and cash.
Sensormatic is the inventor of the electronic tags used by retailers to prevent shoplifting.
The company also sponsored the Atlanta games in 1996. The company's cameras captured the Centennial Park bombing that killed one woman and injured dozens.
