Utah's strict liquor laws will stand during the Olympics.
That's the plan for now.
The IOC this week had requested arrangements to
allow alcohol sales at the Salt Palace convention center-- the site of the main
press center.
An IOC spokesman said visiting reporters will become grouchy if they
can't find a drink.
However, legislators have responded that the state supported the Olympic bid
on the condition it wouldn't have to bend its alcohol rules.
