The International Olympic Committee made further reforms in light of the biggest corruption scandal in olympic history.
Over the weekend, the IOC 2000 Commission drafted a new code of conduct for IOC members, including term limits and an election process. The commission's proposal to ban visits to Olympic bid cities is drawing fire from some IOC members. During a news conference, IOC President Juan Antonio Samaranch said he wants the full IOC body to vote on it.
Juan Antonio Samaranch, I.O.C President: "WE WILL PUT BEFORE THE SESSION TWO PROPOSALS. ONE PROPOSAL WILL BE NO VISITS. THE OTHER PROPOSAL WILL BE RESTRICTED VISITS, WITH ANOTHER PROPOSAL COMING FROM MR. KISSINGER, AND THAT'S WHAT WE WILL DO IN DECEMBER."
Dr. Henry Kissinger serves on the IOC 2000 Commission. He says the type of reforms being discussed will silence critics.
