Missing Kids
Parental Guidelines
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children suggests that parents take the following steps in case their child is ever missing.
- Keep a complete written description of the child
Includes hair & eye color, weight, height, date of birth, plus unique physical attributes (glasses, dental braces, pierced ears, etc.)
-
Take color photographs of your child every six months
Should have good focus, different angles.
- Have your dentist prepare dental charts for your child
Make sure they're updated
- Know where your child's medical records are located
Find out from your child's doctor where the records are and how to obtain them. Scars, birthmarks, broken bones, etc. can be valuable for identification.
- Have your child fingerprinted
Contact your local police department. They can professionally fingerprint your child and will give the card to you.
