Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels volunteers deliver meals to homebound frail elderly one hour for one day a week, up to one hour a day for five days a week.
Each meal contains one-third of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's recommended daily allowance of the nutrients necessary to maintain a healthy diet. Food from each of the four major food groups is included in each meal.
There is no fee for meals, however, a small donation is suggested.
Deliveries are made between 10:00 a.m. and 2;00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. When needed, a meal for Sunday can be delivered on Saturday.
Meals on Wheels vehicles are equipped with refrigerated and heated food storage units.
