Warnings

Cellasene and Cell Pill both warn against using the product under certain conditions, such as hyperthyroidism.

The following is a Cellasene warning:
"Bladderwrack (an ingredient in Cellasene) extract contains iodine, and total iodine intake may exceed recommended levels when taking this product. Cellasene should not be taken when pregnant or nursing. If you suffer from thyroid condition or if you are taking blood thinning medications, or other medication, consult your health care professional before using this product. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease." What Is Cellulite?

Experts seem to have somewhat varying opinions about what exactly causes cellulite, or why women suffer from the condition and men don't. Some experts think it's related to the female hormone, estrogen.

Dateline NBC talked with Dr. Michael Rosenbaum, from New York's Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, who is a leading researcher in fat. He has studied why only women get cellulite and thinks it is not because of estrogen.

According to the Dateline report, "Women have a honeycomb shaped underlying structure in the thigh. As fat increases, it expands outward, through the honeycombs, creating a dimpled appearance. Men have a thicker, tightly-webbed connective tissue that helps to contain the fat."

Even slim women can have cellulite, and exercise won't get rid of it. Weight loss sometimes makes it less apparent but doesn't get rid of it either.
