One of the biggest Hollywood smash hits ever, is stomping its way back onto the big screen with a prequal.
And one of the scenes involves a familar Utah symbol.
News Specialist Stacey Butler has the story.
The symbol of safety on the highways and biways is about to be featured in none other than
Jurassic Park III.
Christopher Kramer/Utah Highway Patrol: "WE GOT A PHONE CALL FROM A PROP COMPANY IN LOS ANGELES.THEY WANTED TO KNOW WHAT THE UTAH HIGHWAY PATROL LOOKED LIKE, WHAT KIND OF VEHICLES THEY DRIVE."
Universal Studios says one dinosaur chase scene includes Utah troopers.
"THE UTAH HIGHWAY PATROL WILL BE TAKING ON THE DINOSAUR IN THIS FILM."
Stacey Butler/Eyewitness News: "THEY'RE NOT ACTUALLY FILMING HERE IN UTAH. WORD HAS IT, IT'S JUST A SMALL SCENE. BUT PRODUCTION CREWS HAVE TAKEN IT SO SERIOUSLY, THEY'VE CONTACTED U.H.P. IN ORDER TO COPY THE MINUTEST DETAIL IN THE TROOPERS' UNIFORMS."
From the hat, to the gun, to the belt, to the buckle. The prop company doesn't plan to miss a thing. Even the beehive on the car reportedly will make it on the big screen.
Trooper Ellis Alexander/Utah Highway Patrol: "I THINK IT'S COOL THEY PICKED U.H.P. OVER ANYONE ELSE. MY MONEY'S ON U.H.P. I THINK WE'LL TAKE THE DINOSAUR."
Universal is tight lipped about the script, but the word is, it doesn't look good for our guys.
"I ASKED THE INDIVIDUAL, 'DO YOU KNOW, DO WE WIN?' HE SAID, 'NO.'"
No one knows exactly what happens to the troopers.
Guess we'll just have to wait for the movie.
The movie is being filmed in California and Hawaii. It will hit theaters next summer.
