The 421st Fighter Squadron from Hill Air Force Base returned home today, after nearly two months of keeping an eye on Iraq.
The squadron has been enforcing the no-fly zone over northern Iraq.
A huge welcoming ceremony was a sight for sore eyes for the squadron's members, who have been flying out of a base in Turkey since early December.
Senior Airman Ben Carpenter, who is a crew chief, says "That's the best part of the trip-- coming home and seeing everybody sitting here waiting for us. It really makes your heart feel proud to be an American."
Since the 421st spend the holidays in harm's way, many of the families planned to celebrate a belated Christmas tonight.
