Impeachment Stories & Links
The U.S. Senate Friday acquitted President Clinton on both articles of impeachment.
The first article, alleging perjury, was rejected by a vote of 45 guilty, 55 not guilty.
On the second article, alleging obstruction of justice, half of the 100 senators found the president guilty, half found him not guilty.
Sixty-seven votes were required to convict and remove Clinton from office, and both sides had known for weeks that threshold would not be met.
