"The one thing I keep focusing on is, I know this is going to leave, I know it's going to go away, and I'm going to be seeing those same people back in Oklahoma that I saw before I got to do this. And I don't want them to treat me any different."

"So I know it's going to come and go. I've seen people ten times better than me that never got record deals. So, you know this stuff, and you just know that for some reason God has chosen this to happen. And you do it, you know it's not from your own accord, though. So you just do the best you can, try and represent your family name the best you can, country music and God the best you can and know that there're going to be times you don't, and you can be forgiven for that and move on."

Question: "Are you afraid this will all come to an end? Do you worry about it?"

"Sure, scared to death it's going to come to an end. And the day it comes to an end, I can't gripe at all. Because it's been a wonderful run. But I never want it to end. It's like eating ice cream. You know you're going to get full... but you still want one more bite of that stuff.. it's great."

Question: "You have some 67- million c.d.'s out there. But when people come to see you live, it's a totally different experience. What do you want them to share or feel?"

"The thing that I've got to realize is that, before I started doing this for a living, I went to four concerts in my life. So, concerts are not an everday occurance for some people. For some people, this will be the only concert they ever go to in their lifetime. There's a tourbook that we have and when you open it up, the very first line says, 'Every night must be an event.' We owe that to the people. So that's what you do, every night is an event. So that's what makes a live so different. There are no off nights, no sick days, no thinking about your mommas. It's everything goes behind you. You go out there and play like there's no tomorrow. And that's what I love about live.. no off nights."
