Garth Brooks
Part Two
Part Three
Garth Brooks began a series of concerts in Salt Lake City on Thursday, July 9. The following is an excerpt from a press conference he held before Thursday night's concert:
"Five minutes before I got onto the plane, my oldest girl, who turned six
yesterday, comes to me and she goes, 'Dad!' (wiggles loose tooth). And I look
at it, and it's real loose. And I remember my dad pulling my teeth. And I say,
'You want me to pull that?' And she says, 'I'd like you to before you leave.'"
"So I felt it and I said, 'Does that hurt?' 'A little.' And the next thing I
know.. there it was. And I don't know why, but it all just flooded into my
face.. and I was bawling like a baby. That was my girl's first tooth."
"And she wanted to know how much it was worth, of course. But she was great.
And that's alive for me."
"The closest I've ever felt to that is what I've
felt on that stage. I'm not saying it's going to be that way tonight, because I
don't want to jinx it (not that I'm superstitious). B
ut God's going to pull
that from me sometime. I just don't want it to be tonight."
"I love playing. My children try to understand it. My wife tries to understand
it. Other than holding my three little baby girls, I've never been more alive
than this. This is what I do."
