Fireworks Safety Tips
- Monitor your children while they are using any fireworks. Adult supervision is the key.
- Only light fireworks after reading and following safety instructions.
- Light fireworks away from any combustibles; home, dry grasses, shrubs, fences, and flammable liquids.
- Keep a bucket of water handy, and your garden hose.
- Never try to re-light fireworks that have not fully functioned.
- Light fireworks on a flat, smooth surface.
- Use fireworks only in authorized areas of the city.
- Wet down any areas of concern with a garden hose after fireworks.
- Cut excessive vegetation from your yard, especially in alleyways.
- Keep outdoor storage to a minimum.
