Areas of Concern for Flooding
Snowpack continues to be above average for 10 of 13 Utah basins.Here are some areas of concern by county. -Weber County: Ben Lomond Peak (Has lost 5.4 inches of snowpack in the past week, but is still high with 46.1 inches. That equals 199% of average. It is now losing 0.7 inches per day). Davis-Weber Canal could flood if dammed by landslide. -Davis County: Farmington Peak (Has lost 2.0 inches of snowpack in the past week. Remains 487% of average. Now losing 0.9 inches per day). -Tooele County: Areas to the west of Settlement Canyon. -Salt Lake County: City Creek Drainage. -Washington County: Upper elevation snowpacks continue to run high at 244-317% of average, with 26.0-30.7 inches. -Debris Flow/Landslide Potential: Debris flow potential remains moderate for the Wasatch Front. Monitoring is taking place at Shurtz Lake, Chalk Creek, East Layton, and South Weber. The Utah Geological Survey updates potential and current landslides at www.ugs.state.ut.us
