Fireworks Restrictions

Note: This page will be updated with fire/fireworks restrictions as we receive them.

Park City and Summit County

  • Fireworks are banned throughout the entire county.

Wayne and Morgan County

  • Fireworks and open fires are banned throughout the entire county

Cache Valley

  • Hyde Park: banned anywhere above the middle canal (approx. 250 East)
  • Smithfield: banned south of Center Street, east of 450 east; north of Center St., east of 200 East.

Provo

  • Fireworks banned east of South State Street, 900 East, Timpview Drive (650 East), Foothill Drive (4525 North), Canyon Road, and University Avenue north of Canyon Road.
  • No discharging of fireworks within 20 feet of combustible vegetation or structures

Salt Lake City/County and Surrounding Areas

No fireworks in the following areas:

  • East of Wasatch Blvd
  • South and West of U-111
  • North of 11th Avenue
  • City Creek Canyon
  • All areas of Salt Lake City west of I-215
  • All Salt Lake city parks
  • Sandy City: Voluntary Fireworks Ban all areas east of Wasatch Blvd. and in Dimple Dell Park
  • Riverton City: West of 3600 West, and South of 13400 South
  • Holladay: Complete ban within city limits
  • Herriman City: Complete ban within city limits
  • Draper City: West of I-15, South of 13800 South, East of Highland Drive
Ogden, North View, South Ogden, Weber Fire Districts and Surrounding Areas

Fireworks and open fires banned in the following areas:

  • South county line, east or SR 89 to Harrison Blvd.
  • East of Harrison Blvd to Mountain Road
  • East of Mountain Road north to 3300 North
  • North of 3300 North to the Ogden Brigham Canal, to 1350 West
  • West of 1350 West and south to Pleasant View Drive
  • North of Pleasant View Drive to the north county line.
  • Bountiful: East of Bountiful Blvd.
  • Fruit Heights: Complete ban within city limits

Glen Canyon/Lake Powell Restrictions

Officials also expanded the fire restrictions for the Glen Canyon National Recreation area, including Lake Powell. They are as follows:

  • No campfires of any kind, including within developed campgrounds, picnic areas, or shoreline/beach areas.

  • No charcoal grills, including those on houseboats or other vessels. Stoves fueled by propane or liquid petroleum gas are permitted.

  • No smoking, except within an enclosed vehicle or developed recreation site, or while stopped in an area at least three feet in diameter that is barren or cleared of all flammable material down to mineral soil.

  • No fireworks, or other pyrotechnic devices. Violation of these restrictions can result in up to a $5,000 fine and/or up to 6 months imprisonment.
