Learning Sportsmanship

The State High School Activities Association this year launched a program to reward students for good sportsmanship. It also is working to better train high school athletic directors to become more sophisticated in game management.

Many city recreation departments offer programs to get young children and parents into sports in a supportive, productive environment. For example, Farmington City Recreation has a program called Start Smart. It is for kids 3-5 years old. It starts in late April.

Other cities' rec. departments do similar things. If you are interested, contact your local recreation department.
