Changing the eating environment

  • Eat meals and snacks at regular and scheduled times.

  • Eat in one place only.

  • Store food out of sight.

  • Don't keep high-calorie foods in the house.

  • Don't put serving dishes on the table.

Changing the act of eating

  • Eat slowly.

  • Do not do anything else while eating.

  • Put down utensils between bites.

  • Chew food slowly and thoroughly.

  • Pause in the middle of the meal.

  • Eat smaller portions.
