Pioneer Day Celebrations
Looking for something to do to celebrate Pioneer Days? Several communities around the state plan to hold special activities. Here is a list of some of the events (all take place Tuesday unless otherwise noted).
Salt Lake City
- Days of '47-KSL Parade
9:00 a.m., begins South Temple & Main.

Marathon 5:00 a.m $30
10K 6:15 a.m. $18
5K Fitness Walk 7:00 a.m. $12 ($5 kids 12 and under)

- Sunrise Service- S.L. Tabernacle, 7:00 a.m.
- Chuck Wagon Breakfast- 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., Liberty Park, Northeast Pavillion ($1 donation).
- Chase Home Museum of Utah Folk Arts, center of Liberty Park, 12:00 - 5 p.m., free.
- Days of '47 World Championship Rodeo- 4 p.m., Delta Center.
- Days of '47 Fine Arts Show- Joseph Smith Bldg., 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
- Native American Celebration in the Park- Liberty Park Noon - 9 p.m.; Includes pow-wow, arts & crafts market; Native American village; Navajo song & dance; children's tent; live entertainment; authentic food. For more info go to www.calnezdesign.com/nacip.html.
- Liberty Park activities- Noon - 10 p.m., sports, food booths, live entertainment, kids activities, etc.
- Fireworks- Liberty Park at dusk.

Monday, July 23

Tuesday, July 24
Breakfast- 7 a.m.-10 a.m., City Park. Food, games, entertainment, rides in City Park, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Layton
Free concert- Utah Symphony, 7:30 p.m., Ed Kenley Amphitheater.
Kaysville
Breakfast- 7:00 - 11:00 a.m., Bowman's market.
Tremonton
Parade- noon, Center St.; activities at Willow Park 7 a.m. to dusk; fireworks at dusk.
Logan
Willow Park-- Fun Run, 7:30 a.m., (register at 7:00 a.m.); 8:30 a.m. register for sports (basketball, volleyball, horsehoes); 9 a.m. sports begin; 10 a.m. to dark- food & craft booths, youth rodeo (fairgrounds); Parade, noon (Center/500 W/700 S/ends at Willow Park); Country music festival- 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.; pie eating 2:30; watermelon eating 3:30; Imagine (Beatles Party) 8 p.m.; Fireworks at dark.
Spanish Fork
Breakfast, 7-10 a.m., City Park. 7:30 a.m. 10K race
(registration at 6:30 a.m.), Spanish Fork Canyon View Park, $15; Children's fun run (age 12 and under), 8:30 a.m., $12; Parade, 10 a.m. (900 East, west on Center, around park, north on

Flag raising ceremony 6 a.m.; Parade 9 a.m., Main St. 600 N. to elementary school; Entertainment and activities all day in park.
Vernal
Scout breakfast 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., Colton pavillion; Parade 10 a.m., Main St.; booths at ballpark all day.
Orderville
Parade 10 a.m.
Kanab
Parade- 10 a.m., on the Highway; Mormon Battalion Barbeque 5 p.m. at the park.
