Broken Canal Causes Flooding in Riverdale

Damage estimates from Sunday's mudslide in Riverdale have reached $15-million, not including economic impact. Experts say there could be up to another $100-million in damage and losses to crops, although some say that estimate may be a little high.

Meantime, thousands of volunteers continue to come to the aid of residents who are trying to dig out.

Everyone from teenagers with shovels, to professional contracts are on hand at the area where about 80 homes were innundated when the Weber-Davis canal broke.

Governor Leavitt declared a state of emergency there, in order to facilitate aid to affected homeowners.

There's still no word on just who will pay for cleaning up that mudslide.
