Fireworks Restrictions.

The fourth of July is still two weeks away, but fireworks stands are already starting to pop up.

Utah law allows fireworks to be sold beginning today, however, fireworks cannot be lit or discharged legally until July 1st.

Many police agencies say they will strictly enforce fireworks laws this year, because of the drought conditions.

And already, fireworks restrictions are in place on the outskirts of the Salt Lake Valley and parts of Salt Lake City.

A total ban on fireworks is in effect for all areas east of Wasatch Drive; north of 11th Avenue and in City Creek Canyon. The ban extends to all areas in the city west of I-215; and includes all city parks.

Other cities are expected to announce restrictions in the new few days.
