Governor Claims Ignorance of Unethical Practices
Poll Results: Did Politicians Know?
July 26, 2000
Utahn's overall may believe politicians knew about unethical practices in helping Salt Lake win the Winter Olympics. But Governor Leavitt reiterates he did not.
He also says we would have won the games without giving special treatment to the IOC.
Gov. Mike Leavitt/(R) Utah: "THERE'S NO QUESTION IN MY MIND THAT WE WOULD HAVE WON THE GAMES. THIS DIDN'T NEED TO HAPPEN."
These comments come in response to KSL's poll last week, which showed the majority of Utahns felt the Governor and politicians did know of unethical practices.
