The Downtown Alliance and KSL-TV channel 5 are pleased to present First Night 2000, our 7th Annual New Year's Eve Celebration of the Arts.Downtown Salt Lake City will be THE place to be this New Year's Eve, as local dancers, painters, poets, puppeteers, pyrotechnicians, scientists, sculptors, singers, songwriters, storytellers, street performers, thespians and musicians, present seven hours of non-stop sights, sounds, crafts, food and fun. From rock to opera, hip-hop to Hamlet, blues to ballet, and a millennium fireworks finale, First Night 2000 has something for everyone, in a safe, alcohol-free family-friendly environment.
Make it a night to remember - join First Night 2000, THE place to ring in the New Year and the New Millennium!
The First Night celebration has been held in downtown Salt Lake City since 1994. The event has been organized and sponsored by the Downtown Alliance, and supported by dozens of local businesses and organizations. First Night Salt Lake City is held in a variety of venues in downtown Salt Lake City including shopping malls, cultural locations, theaters, outdoor plazas, city hall, vacant buildings, community theaters, local art institutions, religious facilities, and the Salt Palace.
First Night Salt Lake City will showcase top quality local visual and performing artists in a well organized, high quality, and alcohol free New Year's Eve celebration that promotes cultural, ethnic, and artistic diversity among the artists and audience.
