Judge Hears Transit Tax Issue

A Salt Lake judge heard arguments Monday on whether the Utah Transit Authority can continue to use a taxpayer funded pamphlet.

Outside the courthouse, protestors cheered Salt Lake County Commissioner Brent Overson's efforts to challenge U.T.A.

Overson claims an information pamphlet produced by UTA is political propoganda.

But UTA officials say the flier is required by federal law, and was written and printed before the tax hike proposal was put on Weber, Davis and Salt Lake County ballots.

The judge is expected to decide by the end of the week.
