Jazz Season Comes to End: Lose to Blazers in Semifinals, 4-2
— It wasn't to be in 1999. After making it to the Finals the last 2 years, the Jazz made an early playoff exit as they fell to Portland in Game 6 of the West Conf. Semis, 80-92. Reported to be the NBA's MVP, Malone was held to only 8 points.
The Jazz had finished the regular season tied  for the best record in the NBA.
