Al-Qaida Arrests


In Pakistan, authorities arrested nine suspected al-Qaida operatives. Among them were two Americans and a Canadian.

The Pakistani information minister says some of the men are suspected of smuggling weapons to use in terrorist attacks -- and that they're all from the same family.

Also, in Pakistan today, a clandestine bomb factory used by Islamic militants exploded in Karachi, killing at least five suspected terrorists, including one linked to the murder of reporter Daniel Pearl and the bombing of a U.S. Consulate.
