Feb. 1, 01 -- Researchers say life may soon become a little easier for people who have diabeties.
Scientists have developed an "insulin inhaler" that could eventually replace daily insulin injections.
Patients who used the inhaler on a trial basis still had to take one injection a day of long acting insulin, but their other doses used to regulate blood sugar around meal times were replaced by the inhaler.
Larger studies are underway to see if the nasal spray effectively replaces the shots for a longer period.
If it does, the nasal spray could win FDA approval in about a year.
