Albuquerque, New Mexico -- Brandon Doman threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Andrew Ord late in the fourth quarter as Brigham Young remained unbeaten with a 24-20 victory over Mountain West Conference rival New Mexcio.

With the defense bearing down, Doman moved to his right and threw offbalance to Ord just inside the goal line with 3:33 left. Ord was able to beat cornerback Dante Childress on his way to the end zone.

The Cougars are 6-0 for the first time since they captured the national championship in 1984. But for the second time in three games, BYU needed a late rally to do it. The Cougars needed a late score to defeat Nevada-Las Vegas two weeks ago.

The victory was the 20th for BYU in the last 21 meetings between the schools, including four in a row.

Doman (6-0, 2-0 Mountain West) completed 22-of-41 passes for 258 yards and three touchdowns.

Mexico sophomore Casey Kelly completed 17-of-23 passes for 161 yards but threw three interceptions for New Mexcio (2-4, 1-2).

The Cougars took the lead just 3:42 into the game on a 33-yard field goal by Matt Payne.

The Lobos went ahead on Jarrod Baxter's one-yard run with just under nine minutes left in the first half, but BYU made it 10-7 when Doman hit Rod Wilkerson with a 28-yard pass with 4:54 to play.

New Mexico tied it with just 23 seconds reamining in the second quarter on a 20-yard field goal by Vladimir Borombozin.

Borombozin put the Lobos ahead, 13-10, on a 23-yard field goal with 3:07 left in the third.

Doman found Mike Rigell in the end zone on a 27-yard pass with 11:01 left in the game, completing a 10-play, 80-yard drive to make it 17-13.

New Mexico regained the lead when backup quarterback Derri Shepherd hit Javier Hanson on a 19-yard pass with just over six minutes remining.

BYU took the ensuing kickoff at its own 16 and drove 84 yards in 10 plays, capped by Doman's TD pass.
