Rod Zundel currently reports and anchors for the KSL Sports. He also provides play-by-play commentary for Southern Utah University and Dixie College on our sister station, KCSG. Rod is the recipient of the Society of Professional Journalist Award for excellence in the journalistic field.

Prior to joining KSL in 1995, Rod worked for two other stations as a sportscaster: KUTV Channel 2 Salt Lake City, Utah, for eight years and KIFI Channel 8 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, for four years. He has covered the NBA All-Star Game, the NBA Finals, and the Utah Jazz, as well as major university sporting events.

Rod was born in Brigham City and raised on a dairy farm in West Fielding, Utah. His involvement in sports began back at Bear River High School. He was a quarterback in football, where he received an All-State Honorable Mention and was named to the All-Region Five and All-Area football teams. He also lettered in basketball, tennis, and was student body president.

Rod continued his football career at Rick's College in 1982 then moved on to Weber State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations.

Rod's experience includes a professional rodeo clown and an actor with credits on "Touched By An Angel" and "Promised Land." When he is not covering sports, Rod can be found outside enjoying activities such as golf, fishing, and hunting.
